The Secretariat of the National Higher Committee for Assessing Fragility and Stability Discusses Economic Challenges and Their Implications for National Security

The Secretariat of the National Higher Committee for Assessing Fragility and Stability held a high-level meeting at Al-Nahrain Center for Strategic Studies, dedicated to discussing the economic challenges facing Iraq from the perspective of state fragility and stability, with a focus on administrative and financial corruption as one of the most prominent factors affecting development, stability, and national security.

The meeting was chaired by the Secretary of the Committee, with the participation of representatives from the Parliamentary Integrity Committee in the Iraqi Council of Representatives, the Supreme Judicial Council, the Public Prosecution, the Commission of Integrity, and the Federal Board of Supreme Audit, in addition to a number of experts and specialists from the Political Prisoners Foundation and Al-Nahrain Foundation for Integrity and Transparency Support.

The meeting witnessed in-depth discussions on the root causes of the economic challenges facing Iraq, particularly those related to weak governance, the spread of corruption, and their negative impacts on state institutions and the national economy. Participants also discussed a number of visions and proposals aimed at strengthening the integrity and transparency system, and developing oversight and accountability mechanisms, in a way that contributes to reducing manifestations of corruption and addressing its repercussions on economic and social stability.
